LONG-RANGE FORECASTS

Zone #6: THE SOUTHEASTERN U.S., INCLUDING FLORIDA

Most of the Southeast has been experiencing good moisture totals, but it has been drier than normal in Florida, which has raised the concerns for drought. The spring and summer season of 2023 should be a little wetter than average, especially north of Florida in the southeastern states. However, the Sunshine State may see an increase in rain and thunderstorm activity, perhaps as early as the late spring or in the summer. The fall should be wetter than normal. If we don't see a moderate El Nino form by the summer, then the tropical storm and hurricane season should be close to average.
